October 11 A Total Injustice..Those of you who come here often may remember not long ago I wrote a blog about Michael Shields, who was sentenced to 15 years for attempted murder, a crime he did not commit. With the person actually responsible for the attect writing a signed confession hopefully he will be released on 14th when his appeal is held. With all of Liverpool praying for his release why not take a minute to leave a message of support. Our local paper is running a message board where messages of support can be left, you can find it here. What I still fail to understand is how can somebody be looked up for so long when it is proven they are innocent? The Bulgarian government don't seem to want to know about Graham Sankey who actually confessed to the crime on July 23 a whole MONTH after Michael was sentenced. Our own government have done next to nothing and it was only last month that Jack Straw finally agreed to meet with his distraught parents. How can they leave someone so young to rot in a Bulgarian prison? Michael spent his 19th birthday in prison last month and all I can say is I hope that justice is found somewhere in both our legal system and the Bulgarian system and that he is freed on the 14th.

September 14 It has shocked me to find...That not many people have heard of Michael Shields. He is an 18 year old from Liverpool who was falsely convited of murder in Bulgaria. Read his story here. What shocks me most is that the government don't seem to be doing anything about it. It has taken 15 WEEKS for Jack Straw to agree to meet with his family. What more do they need to do something about it? They have a signed statement from Graham Sankey saying it was him, so why did the trail go ahead? Ok so it was in Bulgaria and SOME of it may have been out of our governments hands, but he's been in prison now since JULY and still the government sits back and does NOTHING!!! Why do we continue to vote in Tony Blair? Why do we pay our taxes in order for the government to spend our hard earned money going to war? Tbh this has annoyed me so much. Why should an 18 year old boy, cos that's all he is a boy, spend his life in prison for something he didn't do because our government are too lazy to do anything?
